gotcha, thanks.
Instead of using your mouse as a pointer, you have a cordless pen and tablet.
The movement is so incredibly natural, but the best is when you're painting.... It's PRESSURE sensitive... so you can make an airbrush swath get wider, or stronger... you can feather with the eraser tool....
It blurrs the line between computer art and traditional art. I love my tablet (but I love Doc's dablet even more.... the bastard.

Yeah, what Moon-boy said... Yes - it rocks, and it's taking some getting used to, but it's unbelievable the amount of control that has. 1,024 levels of pressure and tilt... and you flip the pen, and you can use the eraser to erase just like a real pen! (Photoshop detects it automatically, no switching tools). There is also an additional airbrush pen you can buy that does realistic airbrushing... that's another $70, and a new 360 degree fat marker that works with it too. The pen that came with it has different "nibs" you can put in the pen to simulate different media... the base one feels like a regular pen, then one feels like a felt tip marker, and the other one feels like a paintbrush (it has a spring in it).
I found it online for $288 - CompUSA sells is for $329.99. With FedEx Express shipping, I got it for $309 total (it would have been $350 at CompUSA with tax). Not too shabby... worth every penny. You can get the Graphire for much cheaper, but that has 512 levels of sensitivity... and I'm just a sensitive guy, so I went with more. I also got the 6x8 working surface one... there's a 4x5 that's adequate... or bigger if you so desire. I find that the 6x8 is just perfect for my needs.
If you have the means, and are into graphics software like Photoshop, etc. - I HIGHLY recommend it!!
It may become a work expense.
At that price, I may have to look into one....
... when I was looking at them, they were between $500 and $700.

OR - you could shell out a few grand and get the Wacom Cintiq - which is essentially a flatscreen monitor that you paint directly on... it's just plain gorgeous! droooool......
